Have you read your contract with God, and
Do you know the terms? Part 3
The first contract Jesus offered in the New Testament is found in:
Matthew 5:1-12.
Mt. 5:1: And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
Blessed (defined):
- happy
- spiritually prosperous with life, joy, and satisfaction in God's favorregardless of their outward conditions..
:2: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
b. those who feel their spiritual need.
a. they will be consoled
b. they will be given courage, and comfort.
a. the gentle, the patient, humble minded
b. the mild, patient, long suffering
c. happy are they who claim nothing for the whole earth will
belong to them.
a. Happy are those whose heart's desire is for righteousness, and
right standing with God.
b. For they shall be completely satisfied.
a. they shall be shown mercy
b. they will receive compassion
a. clean heart
a. those who make peace
b. the makers and maintainers of peace
c. for they will be ranked as Sons of God
d. God shall call them his Sons.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
a. those who have endured persecution for the cause of righteousness
b. for being and doing right
c. for to them belongs the kingdom of heaven
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
a. when they reproach you
b. denounce you
c. abuse you
d. give you a bad name
e. cruel to you, and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely on
my account.
Remember you are happy and blessed
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
a. be joyful and triumphant
b. be accepted with gladness
c. for you will be richly rewarded in heaven
d. they persecuted the prophets the same way before you
Mt. 28:18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
The Father gave all power after he achieved redemption. It had
been his equally with the Father, and the Holy Spirit before becoming
man, but he had become limited while being a man. (That is why he
had to pray to the Father. He had power because God was with him).
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
John 17:4: I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
